How to Fix the 7 Device Limit of PLDT HomeBro Ultera

When I first got the PLDT Ultera connection I didn’t know that there’s a limit on the number of devices that you can connect to the provided modem/router.  I only knew it after one of the readers ask about it via the comments section of our Ultera review and since I have 6 devices to connect to the wireless network, I was not able to verify it myself.

The “fix” was accidentally discovered when I wanted to teach my kid how to play Counter-Strike, the router is giving us high latency on a local network and another device seems to have some problems connecting to the  modem/router so I decided to play with the settings.

I think that I have come across of a “bug” in the firmware of the indoor modem that could increase the maximum number of connections that the modem/router can accept.

Take a look at the screenshot below;

As you can see the leased IP addresses are from 192.168.15.2 up to 192.168.15.8 with a total of 7 devices.

To change the maximum number of  devices that can connect to your device follow the steps below;
  1. Onced login to the GUI click on DHCP Server.
  2. Remove the check mark on Enable DHCP Server to disable it then enable it again by putting the check mark back.
  3. You should now see the starting IP Address and Ending IP Address, just change the ending IP address depending on the number of maximum devices that you want to connect.
  4. Click apply and you should be good to go.
Check out the video that I have created.

After the settings have been applied I'm now able to add 2 devices.
The steps above might not work for subscribers with outdoor modem and by the way the high latency on the local network was resolved by disabling the firewall of the modem/router. I'm hoping that once PLDT decided to update the firmware of the router the option to change the number of IP leases would still be available.

    1. Indoor flexibility you can easily bring it to another location and you can replace the sim card easily in case you want to insert a SmartBro sim. Outdoor stable signal might be difficult to move to another location modem has USB port for USB HDD which could serve as a file server.

    1. Hi Jenny,

13th Month Pay Bonus Calculator

There are a lot of articles that have been published on how to compute the 13th month pay and I have read most of it however, I think it’s missing the actual calculator that can compute our estimated 13th month pay. The 13th month pay calculator that we have created would be beneficial especially for those employees who have been employed by the company for less than a year because, the amount of the 13th month pay will be pro-rated (will depend on the number of days or months of service). Based on DOLE’s Department Advisory  the number of days for leave without pay should be taken into consideration. Computation 1: If you have been employed by your company for more than a year use the computation below; Computation 2: Pro- Rated computation. If you have been employed by your company for less than a year use the computation below; Our Calculator has used the formula above to compute your estimated 13th month pay.  How to use the calculator: If you hav
